Liberty Fontimayor had a career in corporate hospitality sales and came to the realization that the next step in her career was not really what she wanted. She had something else in mind, although she wasn’t sure what it all would look like and didn’t know right away that it would result in her opening up a brick and mortar boutique, specializing in fun and refined clothes for women.

She walks us through the trial and error that happened before Common Coast, and how she changed the course when things weren’t going as she’d hoped.  She has never given up and has the confidence to trust in herself that she will figure it out as she goes.  

We had such a fun conversation. We both have had careers in sales and we got a little bit into how Liberty having the fire, skills, and traits of an excellent salesperson has really helped her navigate through opening her business.

She reinforces the importance of just getting started and not having to know everything about business before you do.  She recently hired her first employee and was Googling things regarding the on-boarding process and human resource related items the day her employee started.  She knew she would just figure it out!

Liberty has a vision for Common Coast to be more than a boutique, by way of using the brick and mortar space to create a space for women to network and connect. We talk about the power of creating a community to foster a true connection.
