I know by the time you are listening to this episode, the hype of new year resolution talk has settled. I am not one for resolutions, BUT I do set a word every year. That word is intended to align with my goals for the year, and will serve as a compass when I get off track.
Last year my word was ‘Intention’, and I can look back and see how all of the decisions I made, using this word as my compass, helped to make huge progress towards my goals.
This year, my word is ‘Consistent’. I used to not like this word, and would NEVER have chosen it as a word to motivate me in the past! Isn’t that funny? Maybe it’s because I have been in Corporate sales for 15 years, and consistent always seemed so ‘blah’. So…average. I always wanted to make big waves, and see a big impact immediately. Well, that is not what creates sustainable success (at work, at home, in your health journey, or anywhere).
Consistent means committing to, and doing the small things everyday, that all add up to big results. Consistency means being intentional about your goals and priorities, and taking action every day, every week, every month, to move you forward towards those things.
I want to be consistently:
These things aren’t going to happen everyday, and there will be times that I’ll wish I could have a ‘do-over’. If I can get there 80% of the time, that’s a pretty dang good start.
If you haven’t chosen a word already, it’s not too late. I challenge you to. And write it down. Write down some thoughts about why you chose that word. It really will make a difference in how you make your decisions and the progress that you see as you align with your goals!
I believe that you have gifts, strengths and unique experiences that allow you to make an impact in the way that only you can. I'm here to help you amplify what makes you shine, through your work, because what I know for sure is that it's time for you to put yourself and all of your goodness out there. There are people who are waiting for exactly what you have to offer.
